Fantom has previously committed to a 75% reduction in tokenization to incentivize decentralized application development.
In a new Medium post published on December 26, decentralized finance “architect” Andre Cronje reaffirmed the goals and priorities for the Fantom ecosystem by 2023. Cronje, who previously created protocols like Yearn.finance and Keep3rV1, also revealed that he has accepted a position as a board member of both Fantom Foundation Ltd and Fantom Operations Ltd, overseeing the ecosystem acrylic graph.
“Our overall goal over the next 12 months will be towards creating an environment for dapp developers to build sustainable businesses, while at the same time setting itself apart from other layer 1 solutions. “
A key point of Cronje’s 2023 Fantom roadmap is gas fee monetization, which will enable revenue sharing for decentralized applications, or DApps, as a development engine. In addition, Fantom DApps will be able to interact without the wallet having to pay gas fees themselves, through gas subsidies. “Users do not need to have or know about FTM [trong quá trình giới thiệu],” wrote Cronje.
In terms of new developments, Cronje plans to focus on building the Fantom Virtual Machine and the new storage mechanism. As for the financial management of the protocol, Cronje wrote:
“As has been publicly announced, we are in a very sustainable and healthy position given the current economic situation, especially compared to 2018. This is ultimately a threat to survival. in our place that we don’t need to worry too much about.”
As previously reported by Cointelegraph, on December 1, Fantom announced plans to cut the token burn rate by 75% to fund its DApp rewards program. DApps must have recorded 1,000,000 transactions or more and have spent at least three months on the Fantom Opera network to be eligible for rewards.
