(CHK) Many sources believe that Apple is in the process of developing a multi-device wireless charging dock with many different options.
Most Apple devices like iPhone, Apple Watch or AirPods to have wireless charging. But Apple still lacks a universal charger for all at once. Each device comes with its own charger. Meanwhile, Apple’s MagSafe and MagSafe Duo chargers only charge one and two devices.
Apple competitors like Xiaomi have recently launched multi-core charging that can fast charge 20W for up to three devices at the same time. Bloomberg recently reported that Apple’s teams appear to have begun working to restart the wireless charging device project for many AirPower multi-devices that was shelved a few years ago.
The leak also said that Apple is also in the research and development stage related to many options for true wireless charging. It could be a technology that transmits electricity through the air over short distances – instead of simply through an inductive pad like current “wireless charging”.
So far, Apple has added Qi wireless charging to its entire iPhone lineup and is now rumored to bring wireless charging to the iPad as well. Apple seems to be very focused on developing wireless charging and may move to remove the charging port on the iPhone. However, that will likely still be far away.
