Last year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have several new designs. Now, a new rumor suggests that Apple will redesign the Apple Watch with a flat bezel design, similar to its other recent hardware updates, and roll out a new color.
The rumor comes from leaker Jon Prosser, who revealed it secretly on an episode of the Genius Bar podcast, with his collaborator Sam Kohl.
Prosser seems to have a lot of information, but he only hinted that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have a similar redesign similar to other Apple hardware updates. This seems to mean that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have the same flat bezel design as the iPhone 12, iPad Pro, and iPad Air. Kohl and Prosser describe this version of the Apple Watch as “more refined” than what we’ve seen on other products.
The podcast also indicates that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have a new blue color option for the first time, similar to the green that Apple uses on the AirPods Max.
This rumor is in line with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s prediction for September 2020. At the time, Kuo said that a significant change in the form of the Apple Watch was in the works and could be out at the earliest in 2021.
In addition to the above information, Prosser vaguely hinted at a new type of magnetic AirTag accessory, but no further details were provided.
