(CHK)In the latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman talks about Apple’s long-rumored mixed reality device, which could finally launch as early as next year. This is not the first time Gurman has reported on this mixed reality device. Apple has been planning this for several years and it looks like it’s ready to be announced.

In the latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman talks about Apple’s long-rumored mixed reality device, which could finally launch as early as next year. This is not the first time Gurman has reported on this mixed reality device. Apple has been planning this for several years and it looks like it’s ready to be announced.

In his post, Gurman wrote: “Apple is planning to launch its own expensive device with advanced chip, display, sensor and avatar-based features early next year.”

Earlier this year, a report claimed that this new mixed reality device could cost as little as $3,000, which corroborates what Gurman said about the device being expensive. Once Apple has blown its users away with its new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, it’s only a matter of time until the company can put all these pieces together. In his newsletter, Mark Gurman also discusses whether these new Apple glasses will be gaming or just focusing on augmented reality, as even the new Macs have one of the most powerful chips ever made. Export, macOS is not a great gaming platform.

This Apple product will be in the mixed reality category. That means it will have both AR and VR capabilities. While gaming can be done in both environments, virtual reality is what you want for high-performance games with top graphics. For this Apple product, that’s what it’s all about: mixed reality experiences that can handle high-quality virtual reality games with flexible chips and high-end displays.

Then, with his last sentence, Gurman delivered his best quote: “As the years go by, you’ll see a real AR glasses.” This corroborates with all of Tim Cook’s latest statements about an augmented reality future.
