The World Economic Forum (WEF) has just announced the list of 100 Technology Pioneers 2020, of which, notably, 6 names from the blockchain industry in general and cryptocurrency in particular.
According to the WEF homepage, blockchain and crypto startups recognized as 2020 Tech Pioneers include Lightning Labs, Chainlink, MakerDAO, Bitcoin Elliptic analytics firm, and American regional startups Ripio. and Veridium Labs.
They are a 100 global companies recognized for “technological innovations, ranging from artificial intelligence, research and cancer research systems or quantum computing, …”
MakerDao’s channels quickly showed their appreciation when listed on the WEF list.

The WEF homepage also states:
“With recognition in this community, Tech Pioneers will embark on a two-year journey as part of World Economic Forum initiatives, activities and events, with new and creative thinking in global discussions. ”
Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said the company was grateful for this honor.
“Using smart contracts on blockchain to bring comprehensive security to the community as well as economic benefits. We are proud to play a role in bringing automation to the global financial process. We expect to be able to contribute a lot to the interesting discussions ahead about future solutions to challenges. ”
Blockchain names were recorded in 2016
Since 2000, the WEF has been publishing the annual list of Tech Pioneers. Many traditional companies like Mozilla, Spotify, Twitter, Google have all been on the list above, but blockchain companies have only started to appear more recently.
In 2015, Ripple also appeared on the list above. The seminar also recognized the company “Blockchain” in 2016, for its contributions to the implementation and management of millions of global transactions.
