Tiantian Kullander, co-founder of $3 billion crypto financial services firm Amber Group, passed away in his sleep on Nov.
Amber Group’s official website has confirmed Kullander’s passing.
“With deepest sadness and heavy hearts, we inform you of the passing of our friend and co-founder, Tiantian Kullander, who passed away suddenly in his sleep the same day. November 23, 2022”.
Kullander died at the age of 30, leaving behind a wife and a son. Also known as “TT”, Kullander is the co-founder of the Hong Kong-based Amber Group. The company operates as a “one-stop crypto financial services provider providing 24/7 liquidity, trading and asset management services”.
In addition to Amber Group, Tiantian Kullander also joined the board of e-sports company Fnatic and founded KeeperDAO, a decentralized financial protocol that allows participants to trade, borrow, and stake assets with protect from bots that exploit the miner’s value, before giving it back to the community.
According to the employees’ comments, Tiantian is a passionate and hardworking manager who has “put his heart and soul into the company” and driven it towards success.
“TT is a respected thought leader and widely recognized as a pioneer in the industry. His in-depth knowledge, willingness to collaborate and always wanting to help others have benefited countless individuals and startups. His insights and creativity have inspired many projects, people and communities.”
Prior to founding Amber Group in 2017, Kullander worked as an emerging markets trader at major financial services firm Morgan Stanley. Early in his career, he worked on the credit trading team under Goldman Sachs before leaving a year later.
In 2019, he was honored to participate in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, honoring the brightest entrepreneurs, leaders and young stars.
The crypto community also shared their condolences on Twitter.
“Never met a single person who said anything negative about him. An almost impossible feat in this industry and testament to his character,” noted crypto trader Hsaka said.
Arthur Cheong, founding partner of DeFiance Capital, mentioned that “the industry has lost a young, bright and most importantly a good soul”.
Earlier this month, Nikolai Mushegian – an important developer in the history of MakerDAO and stablecoin DAI, also died unexpectedly at the age of 29. The departure of talented people in the blockchain field has left many losses. for the platform itself, their company, and the industry as a whole.
