Anthony Di Iorio will sever his main relationship with cryptocurrencies, stating that he does not want to focus on crypto-related projects any more. At the same time, he said he will sell his current Decentral company to start a charity next year.

The Ethereum co-founder is the CEO and co-founder of Canadian blockchain company Decentral, which created Jaxx, one of the most popular crypto wallets in the world. Di Iorio said his personal security concerns accounted for 20% of his decision.

I’m a crypto guy and I don’t want to be known as someone who has much to do with the field. I want to be known as a problem solver.

Di Iorio will fund the organization from his own equity, which he declined to disclose, and proceeds from the sale of Decentral, which is valued at several hundred million dollars. Di Iorio talked to potential partners and predicted to sell Decentral for fiat currency or shares in another business rather than for crypto.

While concluding his relationships with other blockchain companies involved, Di Iorio said that he will be open to using blockchain technology along with other approaches in his upcoming work.

Having a middle ground and cryptocurrency is a tool in my next tool belt.

However, Di Iorio also revealed that he hired a public relations firm to work with his platform. The platform will work across multiple industries and across a variety of issues, although Di Iorio did not specify which.

He even holds weekly sessions with a number of leaders from various industries and politics, including Paraguayan congressman Carlos Rejala, who is advocating for Bitcoin legislation in the country.
