Some important information about the upcoming Ethereum updates that you should keep in mind.
Recently, the team developed Ethereum The roadmap for the digital currency has been announced, and some notable updates will be rolled out in the near future.
On March 8, Ethereum officially announced the upgrade roadmap of the Berlin update, while the previous testnet Ropsten launched on March 10.
In addition, the other two testnets, Goerli and Rinkeby, will be run on March 17 and March 24 respectively.
It is expected that on April 14 the Berlin upgrade will be on the mainnet at block 12,244,000. But investors must note that the upgrade timeline will be subject to change, depending on whether the developer is in a favorable position or not.
Regarding the Berlin upgrade with 4 EIPs:
- EIP-2929: increases in certain gas costs
- EIP-2565: reduce ModExp pre-compile cost
- EIP-2930: includes a transaction mechanism and optional access list
- EIP-2718: introducing a new form of transaction
In order to receive the Berlin version, the Ethereum node operator will have to update the Berlin-compatible version during all three trials.
In addition to the Berlin version, a hard fork codenamed “London” will also be released in July this year.
