According to Brazilian media, the new Honda HR-V model has been confirmed to launch in this country in August 2022. The new HR-V will be manufactured at the Itirapina plant in Sao Paulo. The announcement of the new Honda HR-V was made by the new CEO of Honda South America, Atsushi Fujimoto, who also confirmed the new Honda Civic hybrid will launch in the second half of this year and the Civic Type R in 2023.

The CEO of Honda South America did not go into details of the new Honda HR-V, but did confirm that the model will be offered with a 1.5L 16V Flex, 4-cylinder, aspirated and four-cylinder engine. direct fuel injection. This engine can produce 126 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. Hatchbacks and sedans using this engine always come with a CVT automatic transmission that simulates 7 gears, so Brazilian media believe that the new HR-V will also be integrated with this gearbox.

In recent months, images of camouflaged Honda HR-Vs have frequently appeared circulating in the Sumaré (SP) area, where Honda’s factory is located. This could be a sign that the launch time of this model is near. The Japanese automaker has also confirmed that the new HR-V will launch this year, but the specific date remains a mystery.
