Sime Darby Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia has announced that it will hold a launch event for the BYD Atto 3 from December 9-11, 2022. Previously, the BYD Atto 3 was launched in Thailand and received many positive feedbacks from users.
The BYD Atto 3 is one of the few confirmed BYD models for the Malaysian market. This all-electric crossover will be offered with two battery pack options. The first BYD Atto 3 battery pack option is a 49.92 kWh pack with a range of up to 345 km while the other option is a 60.48 kWh pack offering a range of up to 420 km.
Both are Blade EV battery packs developed by BYD themselves, giving the BYD Atto 3 a capacity of 204 PS and 310 Nm of torque. The BYD Atto 3 also supports AC charging as well as DC fast charging. According to the automaker, the BYD Atto 3 can charge from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes.
Although the price and official specifications of the BYD Atto 3 in Malaysia have not been announced yet, it is highly likely that this electric car will be sold with an expected price of RM105k (equivalent to VND 579 million). The BYD Atto 3 will compete directly with the GWM Ora Good Cat – another electric model from China that will be sold in Malaysia. As of last week, Good Cat has received over 100 pre-orders even before its official launch.
Positioned in the C-size SUV segment, the Chinese electric car model BYD Atto 3 has detailed dimensions of length x width x height of 4,455 x 1,875 x 1,615 mm and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm, respectively. This Chinese electric car model is also highly appreciated for its equipment with LED lighting system, electric trunk door, rearview mirror with integrated glass drying / electric adjustment / electric folding feature, roof baga and both Anti-jamming panoramic panoramic sunroof.
Inside the cabin, the BYD Atto 3 is equipped with a 5-inch digital dashboard, a 12.8-inch central touch screen that supports Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity, voice commands to use. English with 8-speaker Dirac HD sound system.
It is currently unclear whether after Thailand and Malaysia, the BYD Atto 3 electric car will be available for sale in other markets in Southeast Asia. If it returns to Vietnam, BYD Atto 3 will be a direct competitor of the VinFast VF e34 model.
