The world famous car manufacturer, Ford recently showed a move to enter the metaverse field, researching NFT. By the end of this 2022 and the coming years, it is certain that the automotive industry will not be out of the trend of the times, NFT application and metaverse.
Ford and the step into virtual space
American car manufacturer Ford has revealed its intention to participate in the Metaverse race. The proof is the company’s recent trademark applications.
Specifically, Ford has filed 19 separate trademark applications for all of its key brands. Cars, trucks, vans and clothing will be the first to be transformed into virtual digital. Online stores that distribute NFTs are also part of the expansion plan.

Not only Ford, a famous car brand of Korean origin – Hyundai has also filed a trademark application related to the world of Metaverse and NFT. Hyundai’s profile is even more extensive with sports equipment, headgear, footwear, eyewear, sports equipment and a few other items.
Up to now, the big players in the auto industry that have released NFT can be mentioned as: Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Lamborghini, Bentley… Just last month, the luxury supercar manufacturer W Motors also entered the Metaverse space.
This week, Renault Korea – the Korean branch of French car manufacturer Renault, combined with the popular Metaverse platform The Sandbox to launch a virtual car technology experience. In the meantime, Alfa Romeo has integrated NFTs into its vehicles to keep maintenance records.
NFT car price is “more expensive” than real car
A recent research paper published by Vanarama shows that some NFT enthusiasts are willing to spend more money on virtual cars than real ones.

Additionally, an NFT video of a Lamborghini exploding recently sold for $250,000, which is more than the price of a real Lambo.
