Mark Ziembicki argues that the opening of the St Lucia river mouth and excessive rainfall inland, has led to a possible extremely rare encounter between two top-notch predators.

Ziembicki captured the attack with a Canon 5D SLR camera with a 300mm lens.

Ziembicki observed two animals in the area for several hours and was curious to know what would happen if they happened to meet.

He recalls: “While we were busy photographing another crocodile on the beach there was a commotion about a hundred feet away. People also screamed that there was a giant crocodile eating. shark meat “.

Crocodiles have the strongest brute force in the animal kingdom, with the Nile tyrant’s jaws producing eight times more force than the Great White Shark.

According to National Geographic, the Nile crocodile can weigh up to 740kg, but an average of about 300-400kg – meaning that the crocodile that Mr. Ziembicki captured is a particularly large beast.

The Nile crocodile mainly eats fish, but it will attack almost anything when it is hungry and the list includes zebras, small hippos, porcupines, birds and other crocodiles , “said the website.
