Honda City’s American rival was launched, promising to stir up the market at a very cheap price

Chevrolet Aveo 2024 – a B-class sedan from the famous American car brand has just been officially launched in the Mexican market, promising to be a serious competitor of Honda City. The third generation of Chevrolet Aveo is manufactured in China by the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, but this is the first time this model has been produced and developed in the world’s most populous country.

Besides the sedan variant, Chevrolet Aveo also has a hatchback variant. Although it has entered the 3rd generation, the rival model of Honda City still does not have many breakthroughs when wearing a simple design.

At the front, Chevrolet Aveo 2024 has a chrome grille, combined with LED daytime running lights with halogen headlights. The hatchback variant of the Honda City rival has a more eye-catching exterior, with the passenger compartment window being extended to the rear. The rear lights of the car are designed quite sporty and angular.

Moving into the cabin, the dashboard of the Chevrolet Aveo 2024 is designed to be simple but relatively modern. The car has an analog clock cluster and an 8-inch central entertainment screen. The rival Honda City model is also equipped with rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, a 4-speaker audio system, automatic air conditioning and an infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of safety equipment, the car is equipped with disc brakes and 6 airbags on all versions.

The “heart” of the Chevrolet Aveo 2024 is a naturally aspirated 1.5L 4-cylinder engine block with a maximum capacity of 98 horsepower and maximum torque of 143 Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT continuously variable automatic transmission.

In general, both the design, engine and technology of the Chevrolet Aveo 2024 do not bring much breakthrough. However, this model will hold the advantage of low price because it is aimed at the popular market.
