Honda WR-V 2023 achieves 5-star safety ASEAN NCAP

Honda recently introduced the new generation Honda WR-V in the Indonesian market. Honda WR-V is positioned in the midsize SUV segment and will compete with rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and others.

The Honda WR-V SUV has also been crash tested by ASEAN NCAP and passed the test excellently. The Honda WR-V earned an excellent 5 stars in the crash test. Specifically, the WR-V RS variant was tested by ASEAN NCAP. This variant comes with Honda Sensing or ADAS technology as standard. The Honda WR-V RS has side and curtain airbags along with dual front airbags and is powered by a 1.5L NA petrol engine.

The new Honda WR-V scored a total of 27.41 points out of 32 possible points in the adult occupant test. This SUV received 14.88 points in the frontal impact test, 8 points in the side impact test and 4.73 points in the head protection test. The test results showed that the SUV provided adequate protection for the breasts of the mannequins in the vehicle. In addition, the front compartment of the car remained stable during the test.

In the ability to protect child passengers, the Honda WR-V 2023 model received a total score of 42.79 on a maximum scale of 51 points. It scored 24 points in the dynamic tests, 8 points in the vehicle-based tests, 10.06 points in the installation of child seats and 0.73 points for child detection.

ASEAN NCAP tested the new WR-V active safety systems. The SUV scored 6 points in effective braking & avoidance, 3 points in seat belt reminders, 4.37 points in automatic emergency braking, 3 points in advanced SAT. The SUV scored 16.37 points out of a maximum of 21 points in the ASEAN NCAP ADAS test.

The Honda WR-V is equipped with features such as automatic emergency braking (AEB), intercity AEB, pedestrian AED, lane departure warning, forward collision warning and lane keeping assist. In addition, Honda HR-V juniors also have blind spot monitoring, automatic headlights and AEB for motorcyclists.
