How to create a list of vertical tabs that automatically expand or collapse
By default, the vertical tabs column in Edge will always be expanded, meaning you can see both the site name and their icons in full. Immediately, the vertical tab column will be minimized, showing only the icons of the currently open web pages as tabs. In this view, press the plus button (“+”) to add a new tab at any time.
If you want the vertical tab column to always be open, click the “pin” icon in the upper right corner of the tab list. The vertical tab column will now be “pinned” in the expanded state.
What to do when I don’t see the vertical tab button?
If you don’t see the vertical tab button, chances are you haven’t updated to the latest version of Edge, or you’ve accidentally hidden the vertical tab button before.
To re-enable the vertical tab button, click the three-dot menu button in the upper-right corner of any Edge window and click “Settings”.
In the Settings menu, click “Appearance”, then look for the “Customize toolbar” section. Click the switch next to “Show vertical tabs button” to turn it on.
