According to a Bloomberg statistic in the first quarter of 2022, in Norway, electric vehicles accounted for 82% of total sales, Iceland 51%, Sweden 28.7%, UK 16.5%, China 16. 7%, Korea 6.5% and the US 5.3%.
In Vietnam, this statistic is definitely not done because both the number of launched models and sold cars are still very low compared to the percentage of petrol cars. However, if a few years ago, the term electric car sounded quite far away to Vietnamese consumers, now, electric cars have been and are on the way to popularizing the Vietnamese market.
Up to now, VinFast, Hyundai, and Porsche have all brought a number of electric car models to Vietnam. Mercedes will also soon launch its flagship electric car model in Vietnam this October.
On the streets of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, people have also encountered many VinFast VF e34s walking around. Most recently, VinFast also started to hand over the first VF8s to Vietnamese customers.
Electric cars are considered an undeniable trend when a series of manufacturers have announced plans to stop producing electric cars to electrify their entire product range in the coming years. Vietnam will certainly soon enter the era of electric cars.
So, is this the right time to buy an electric car? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using an electric vehicle? How will Vietnam enter the era of electric vehicles?
