KIA Cerato’s ‘nightmare’ launches next week, the price makes Toyota Corolla Altis suffocate

Skoda has finally confirmed the launch date of the new generation Skoda Octavia in India. After several delays due to Covid-19, the fourth generation Skoda Octavia will finally launch in India on June 10, 2021. The new Octavia builds on the updated MQB platform and is much larger in size than the old generation. The sedan will be offered as a petrol-only model in India. But more importantly, it brings a new life to the premium sedan segment. Before the Skoda Octavia 2021 launches, let’s take a look at some of the most outstanding features of this model.

Skoda Octavia 2021 will be equipped with VW Group’s 2.0L TSI engine. This engine has appeared on the Skoda Superb and is capable of producing 190 horsepower, 320 Nm of torque. The new Octavia will use a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Skoda Superb with 2.0L engine can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in about 8 seconds. When this engine is introduced into the Octavia with much lighter weight, the performance will be very high. Skoda can also offer the 150hp 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engines from the Volkswagen T-Roc and Skoda Karoq on lower trims of the Octavia.

Skoda has followed the test of the next-generation Octavia in India quite a few times. Based on what we have seen from the leaked images, we can know the Skoda Octavia 2021 in India will be quite similar to the version sold in Europe. The design of the next-generation Octavia is quite similar to the current Superb. However, if you’re a fan of the upcoming car’s split headlights, Skoda has unfortunately ditched it in favor of a more conventional design, quite similar to the Superb. However, the honeycomb grille continues to be used, and so are the C-shaped LED taillights at the rear.

Skoda Octavia 2021 will also be very well added in terms of features and equipment. The interior is upscale with a floating touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster and most buttons replaced by touch controls. The interior of the Indian version of the Octavia is similar to the European model. The dashboard has a nice layered design and will be packed with features like dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, an audio system, power front seats and cruise control.

Skoda Octavia 2021 is expected to cost from about 18 lakh INR (about 569 million VND). This model is placed in the same segment as the Hyundai Elantra, KIA Cerato and Toyota Corolla Altis.
