(CHK) Sony’s most advanced smartphone, the Xperia 1 III, has recently been announced with a new blue version and still comes with a confusingly expensive price.
A few months ago, in May this year, Sony launched the Xperia 1 III smartphone in the Chinese market with three color options – Purple, Black and Gray. Now, the company has announced a fourth color option in the Chinese market – blue. It is currently unknown whether this color will be available internationally or not.
The new green Sony Xperia 1 III is now up for pre-order in China, until November 11 – the big holiday sale here. The device with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage costs 7,999 yuan, or $1,252. This is a relatively high price for an Android smartphone.
Aside from the new color option, everything else remains the same. It features a 6.9-inch HDR OLED display with 3840 x 1644 pixels screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Of course, the water resistance of the device is still “super” in the smartphone village today.
Basically, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
It’s also well-suited as a gaming phone, with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, motion blur reduction, heat suppression technology, and the ability to bypass the battery when gaming and charging the phone.
In terms of cameras, the phone comes with a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel snapper that allows users to take selfies and make video calls.
The smartphone runs on the newly launched Android 11 operating system and is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that comes with support for 30W fast wired charging, wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging for other devices.
