Mixed domestic water will clog the dishwasher, this is an easy fix that only costs about 3 thousand VND a month

Recently, we received an experience sharing from a friend about overcoming the situation of domestic water with many mechanical impurities with the following content:

Hello friends! I was about to buy a dishwasher, so I researched the relevant information and found that: normally, when I use it, I have to remove a separate salt to soften the water, let alone if I use water with a lot of impurities, it can be even worse. quickly clogged water pipes or clogged nozzles.

The dishwasher is a valuable asset, so I felt insecure about my domestic water source and decided to look for a solution. Because it will have to be used for a long time, the requirements for the solution (if any) are:

+ Easy to install and construct;

+ Easy to maintain and maintain;

+ Reasonable installation cost, low maintenance cost.

Make a plan

After much thought, I have settled on the option of installing a water filter before starting to supply it to the dishwasher, also known as the upstream filter or the upstream primary filter.

On the market, there are many types of upstream raw water filters, of many different brands and prices also range from a few tens of thousands to several million dong, with a structure of 1 to 3 filter cups connected in series that makes me happy. eyes and very bewildered, do not know which way to choose.

Thought after thought, considered a lot and finally I chose to install a 10-inch filter cup, both inlet and outlet threads are type 21 for the following reasons:

1.Dishwasher water does not need the same purity as drinking water, so using 3 cups of filter seems to be wasteful and takes up space;

2.The more levels of filtration, the weaker the outlet water pressure will be, while the dishwasher requires a stable water pressure: min 0.05 Mpa (0.5 bar), maximum 1 Mpa (1 bar) , water supply at least 10 liters/min.

3. Replacement filter cartridges are widely available, easy to buy and the price is not high.

The water from the pipe in the wall coming out is divided into two main branches: the right branch goes to the washing machine, the left branch goes to the dishwasher and a faucet. I will leave the filter cup behind the T split into the faucet because I only need to serve the dishwasher and so the water flow through the filter core will be reduced, so it will take longer to replace the core.

In front of the water line into the filter cup, I will install a water lock so that later, if there is a repair or replacement of the filter core, just turn this lock, not need to lock the whole house.

Selection of materials and tools

The filter cup I choose is transparent to easily observe the dirt / cleanliness of the filter element. The whole set includes a filter cup, 1 filter element number 1 with a gap of 5 microns, 2 2 sockets with 2 ends 21 (black), 2 connectors for external threaded pipes 21, 1 water shut-off valve, 2 40 cm water supply wires for somewhere. about 180K. I have young rubber tape and pipe glue, I already have it.

The average diameter of a human hair is about 70 microns, so I think the number 1 filter is enough for the needs of a dishwasher. Later, if it is not effective enough, it is easy to replace it with a 3 core with a filter size of only 1 micron.

The price of a No. 1 filter on the market is only from 10K and can be used for 3 to 6 months (1-3 thousand VND per month) before it has to be changed – depending on the quality of the water and the amount of water to be filtered, but That’s too cheap, isn’t it?

Because the filter cup was inserted into the existing pipe, I had to cut the pipe. I have scissors to cut PPR plastic pipes, so I can always use them for this PVC pipe, you can use zinc wire, hacksaw blade, … to cut it too.

To screw threaded connections between the water supply hose, threaded elbow and filter cup, a wrench (some people call it a wrench), water pliers or a wrench.

You can buy a 20 size plastic pipe holder or an iron 21 pipe holder. I choose a 20 mount because I only have to drill 1 hole into the wall, while the iron belt will have to drill 2 holes.

Start!

Step 1: Complete installation of pre-filter cups.

You use young rubber tape to wrap a few times around the double threaded elbow and tighten it on the 2 water in / out ends of the filter cup and then connect to 2 water supply pipes.

The bad point is that when I bought it, I didn’t ask the seller to get 4 screws to attach the bowl to the filter cup, so I had to use 4 stainless steel screws. The screw is a bit long, if you twist it straight, it will puncture the filter cup cover, so I put 4 ecus in.

Step 2: Turn off the water. Because the pipe outside the loggia does not have a private lock, so it has to be locked from the main water line to the house, which is quite inconvenient.

Step 3: Open the faucet to drain the excess water in the tube. The pipe must be dry for safe and effective installation.

Step 3: Mark the holes to be drilled to fix the filter cup to the wall, determine the location to cut and install the water lock.

Step 4: Cut the tube.

Step 5: Drill the marked holes and holes to attach the tube holder, close the plastic expansion and fix the filter cup, tube holder.

Step 6: Attach the water lock, the water supply line to the filter and the water supply line to the faucet with PVC pipe glue. Due to the narrow distance, the water supply line is long, so I have to twist it like in the picture.

Step 7: Wait for the glue to dry and then open the total water supply valve. If the above steps are done correctly and carefully, in this step 7 water will not leak from the joints, guys!

So it’s done! You can apply this method to filter water for the sink, washbasin or even bath water. Because we use a threaded connection between the inlet and outlet pipes, the repair and replacement will be extremely simple. If you have a better solution, please share it with everyone!
