(CHK) In order to bring a variety of choices to consumers, Honda is about to launch a new junior of Honda Winner X with a power far beyond Yamaha Exciter.

Honda 2 Wheelers is said to launch a new motorcycle model next month (August 2021) in the Indian market. Although Honda 2 Wheelers has yet to reveal the name and details of the upcoming model, it could be an Adventure motorcycle based on Honda Hornet 2.0. The new model could be named ‘Honda NX200’ as the manufacturer registered the trademark in April of this year. Honda’s upcoming new adventure bike will be located on Hornet 2.0 and is estimated to cost about Rs 15,000 more (about 4.6 million Vietnamese Dong) than its naked brother. Currently, Hornet 2.0 is priced at Rs 1.31 lakh (about VND 40 million). Therefore, the price of Honda NX200 will likely be at Rs 1.46 lakh (about VND 44 million).

The design and styling of the Honda NX200 may be inspired by the Honda CX-02 concept and the Honda CBF190TR retailed in the Chinese market. That means Honda’s upcoming Adventure model could bring a sporty design language and travel-focused ergonomics. This model will likely share the platform and engine with the Honda Hornet 2.0. The Honda NX200 will sit on a new diamond chassis and come with an 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel-injected engine.

Honda’s Programmatic Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system with Honda Eco Technology (HET) helps the Honda NX200 improve fuel economy. The PGM-FI includes 8 onboard sensors that continuously inject the optimum air and fuel mixture into the engine. The gasoline engine of the Honda NX200 can produce a maximum capacity of 17.2 hp at 8,200 rpm and a torque of 16.1 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This power far exceeds the number of 15.4 horsepower of Honda Winner X or 15.7 horsepower of Yamaha Exciter.

Similar to its naked brother, the upcoming Honda NX200 will likely be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels with 110 mm front and 140 mm rear tires. Brakes can also be carried forward from Hornet 2.0, using 276mm petal-shaped discs up front and 220mm rear discs with single-channel ABS. The bike will also have USD forks up front and an adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear.

More details about the upcoming Honda adventure bike are likely to be revealed in the coming weeks. Follow Techz for the fastest updates.
