A few years ago, the announcement of Disney’s online movie distribution service was made with the promise that new content of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be released separately on the platform. Subscribers had to wait more than a year after Disney + launched to see their first MCU show – WandaVision. After concluding a story and highlighting some of the previously unnoticed characters, now Marvel continues to look forward to repeating that success with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Written by Malcolm Spellman and directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was officially announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. This TV show takes place from time to time after the events. Avengers: Endgame and will see both Falcon and Winter Soldier adapt to a very different life.
End of Avengers: Endgame, both characters are back after 5 years “lost form” due to the snap of Thanos. Soon after, their best friend Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) went back to the past to grow old with Peggy Carter, and then, in his old age, he returned to hand over the plate. Anthony Mackie returns with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as Sam Wilson aka Falcon. Mackie started joining the MCU with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and returned to Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man in Phase 2 as a supporting character. The character also got another lead role in Captain America: Civil War and later appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. After a lot of time as Falcon, this new series will explore Sam’s journey to become the new Captain America of the MCU.
Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier

Sebastian Stan is one of the two main characters in the superhero duo of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. He started appearing in the MCU as Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011. Later, Stan returned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as part of Bucky’s transformation into Hydra’s super assassin. His other MCU appearances took place throughout Phase 3 with roles in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo

Daniel Brühl returns to the MCU as Baron Zemo in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Before that, the actor also appeared in another MCU product as the main antagonist of Captain America: Civil War. Now, he will return to Disney + and wear the iconic purple mask of the character from the comic.
Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier will also bring Emily VanCamp back as Sharon Carter. She joins the MCU as Agent 13 in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and is set to be Captain America’s new mistress. After that, Sharon returned to Captain America: Civil War, in this movie she and Steve finally kissed, but that was also the last time fans saw her. Avengers: Endgame also confirmed that Sharon disappeared after Thanos’ snap.
Wyatt Russell as John Walker

One of the new MCU additions in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is Wyatt Russell as John Walker. He is the son of Kurt Russell, who played Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Wyatt Russell joined the MCU after his memorable roles in 22 Jump Street, Everybody Wants Some and Overlord. His character John Walker, better known as the US Agent in the comics, will become the government’s Captain America in the Disney + series.
Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine

Don Cheadle will return as James Rhodes aka War Machine in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Since taking the role in Iron Man 2, Cheadle has appeared in 5 other MCU movies including: Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End game. Rhodey is currently adapting to a world without Iron Man, just as Sam and Bucky are learning to live without Steve Rogers. His comeback on Disney + comes ahead of War Machine’s solo series – Armor Wars.
Adepero Oduye as Sarah Wilson

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier will be the first to feature Adepero Oduye in the MCU. She will play Sarah Wilson, the sister of Sam Wilson. Her involvement is one of the many signs that the Disney + series will explore the lives and stories of the main heroes in the series.
George St-Piette as Batroc The Leaper

Batroc the Leaper will return to the MCU in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Professional boxer Georges St-Pierre first appeared in the MCU as a small villain in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He was held captive by this Hydra / SHIELD very early on and has ceased to appear afterward. In addition to the role of Batroc, St-Pierre also appeared in films such as: Never Surrender and Kickboxer: Vengeance.
Erin Kellyman of Flag-Smasher

Another newcomer to the MCU in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is Erin Kellyman. This girl will be a skilled warrior and one of the members of Flag-Smashers, but so far, her character name has not been revealed.
Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier will also star Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres. The character will become the new Falcon after Sam Wilson becomes Captain America. If the MCU follows up with the details in the comics, Ramirez will definitely have a big role in the future.
