New SUV ‘monster’ launched on August 9, ‘eaten up’ both Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner

According to Indian media, MG Motor will launch the new MG Gloster Savvy version with a 7-seat configuration in the Indian market on August 9, 2021. This new 7-seater SUV will be more affordable than the most advanced 6-seater Savvy variant currently being sold for Rs 36.88 lakh (about 1.13 billion VND when converted into Vietnamese Dong). According to estimates, the new 7-seat Gloster Savvy will be cheaper from Rs 30,000 – Rs 40,000 (about VND 9.2 – 12 million) than the 6-seat “brother”.

Currently, the MG Gloster SUV product line is available in four versions including Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy with prices ranging from Rs 29.98 lakh – Rs 37.28 lakh (926 million VND – 1.15 billion VND).

As the most advanced version, the new 7-seat MG Gloster Savvy variant will offer a number of exclusive features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, hands-free parking, adaptive cruise control and scene forward collision warning. The feature list will also include a 360-degree camera, blind spot assist, electronic rear differential lock, 12-speaker sound system with subwoofer and amplifier, panoramic sunroof, lighting system. 64 colors surround, wireless phone charging, power-assisted and heated front seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror and many other attractive features.

Under the hood, the new 7-seat MG Gloster Savvy variant will use a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine that gives the car a maximum capacity of 218 horsepower and maximum torque of 480 Nm. This engine can be paired with a 4WD system (on request) and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Super and Smart versions come with a 2.0L single turbocharger with 2WD system, producing a maximum capacity of 163 horsepower and maximum torque of 375 Nm.

The new 7-seater MG Gloster Savvy can confidently confront other 7-seater SUVs that have proven their class like the Hyundai Santa Fe or Toyota Fortuner.
