Vivo Y21T is expected to launch on January 3 with Snapdragon 680 chipset. The public doubt it is a brand new handset and that is quite true. It is actually vivo Y33s with Qualcomm chipset and some other minor changes. The full list of Y21T features has surfaced online, revealing that vivo has changed its selfie camera, chip, and given a new name.

Vivo Y21T will have a 6.58-inch LCD display with Full HD + resolution. There is a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera, unlike the 16MP sensor on the vivo Y33s. The triple cameras on the back are also the same – 50 MP f/1.8 main + 2 MP f/2.4 bokeh + 2 MP f/2.4 macro.

The Snapdragon 680 chipset comes with 128 GB of memory (expandable via a dedicated Micro SD slot) and 4 GB of RAM. Vivo will offer the opportunity to expand the memory with 1 GB, although we are not yet convinced that it will actually work and whether it should be advertised.

The Y21T will have FunTouch OS 12, which sounds like it’s based on Android 12, but inside it’s Android 11. The phone will also pack a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging via the USB-C port at the bottom.

The source claims the phone will be priced at INR 16,490, which is vivo’s attempt to grab some market share from the popular Realme 8 and the recently launched Redmi Note 11T. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Monday’s event and will be back with actual launch news once the phone is announced.
