The global graphics card market has yet to truly come out of the supply shortage. To partially solve the problem, graphics card manufacturers are actively launching new models aimed at the low-cost segment. One of such products is the Nvidia GTX 1630, a new low-cost GPU model for casual work and basic gaming tasks for only 150 USD (about 3.5 million VND). Basically, GTX 1630 will be the replacement of GT 1030 based on Pascal architecture that Nvidia announced 5 years ago. GeForce GTX 1630 owns TU117-150 graphics core, developed on 12nm technology process and newer Turing architecture, which has been successfully applied on GTX 16 and RTX 20 series. 512 CUDA cores, 4GB of GDDR6 memory, 12GB of bandwidth, and a 64-bit bus.
The new model at launch will compete with integrated graphics in AMD and Intel’s own processors, as well as the recently launched low-cost AMD RX 6400 model.
Because it is a product aimed at the low end, the GeForce GTX 1630 is not going to have Tensor cores or ray tracing. In addition, compared to GTX 1650, GTX 1630 offers fewer CUDA cores, half the memory bus and lower bandwidth. This can become a problem for modern games. In return, the new card model has a much higher boost clock. This may be the reason why the TDP of the 2 products is similar at 75W.
