Following in the footsteps of successful MOBA games like DotA or League of Legends, The Pokémon Company cooperated with TiMi studio (under Tencent Games Corporation) to produce its own MOBA game, named Pokémon UNITE.
Please watch the first trailer:
Pokémon UNITE will launch this fall on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
The gameplay of Pokémon UNITE has something in common with other MOBA games: gamers are divided into two teams, choosing for themselves generals – in this case, different Pokémon to fight, looking for opportunities to win.
In other MOBA games, the player will destroy the opposing faction’s stronghold, and in Pokémon UNITE, you will have to destroy the opponent’s Pokémon, picking up the “essences” that fall (in UNITE, these are called the “elite” items). Aeos) and send them to special places to add points for the whole team. At the end of time, the team with the most points wins.
The Pokémon will have their own set of skills, their own accessories and of course, will have unique skins. Like other MOBA games, skins and character beautification items will be the developer’s main money-making tool, because Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play game.
The game will land on the Switch platform in July 2021. Players on iOS and Android platforms will have to wait until September this year to get their hands on Pokémon UNITE.
