The Red Magic 7 series was just launched in China today, February 17. These are top-of-the-line gaming smartphones that come packed with top-notch specs and features. Let’s take a look at each model in detail.
Red Magic 7
Red Magic 7 is the latest flagship and gaming smartphone. The handset features a 6.8-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution that offers an impressive 165Hz refresh rate. With frame rate being an important factor in gaming, this console will likely be well-suited for today’s high-profile mobile gamers.
Under the body, the Red Magic 7 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and runs Android 12. This processor is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal memory. The device is powered by a large 4,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging.
Redmi has also put an emphasis on cooling, with the device featuring an ICE 8.0 cooling system that includes an RGB fan that spins at 20,000 rpm. It also contains high-tech cooling material in the form of a large VC liquid cooling pad for faster and more efficient heat dissipation.
At the rear, the smartphone has a triple camera setup, with the main lens having a resolution of 64 MP. This sensor is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor.

Red Magic 7 Pro
Coming to the higher-end model, the Red Magic 7 Pro is the top-end variant and has many of the same features as the regular version but with some additions, the most important of which is the self-developed Red Core 1 chip.
Red Core 1 is a dedicated chip that has been designed to enhance the gaming experience on its latest flagship device. For gaming, the device also offers a set of shoulder buttons that, in combination with the Red Core 1, provide a 500Hz touch sampling rate. This chipset will also help improve the sound on the 7 series.
In addition, it also offers a full front display as it houses an under-display selfie camera for the most seamless on-screen gaming experience. It also has the same display as the basic mode, but with 100% DCI P3 color gamut, 10 bit colors, DC dimming, and more.
Red Magic 7 Pro also has an in-screen fingerprint sensor, which supports heart rate monitoring. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC but paired with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of Internal Storage. With virtual scalability, it can even reach 24GB of total RAM.
As for photography, it has the same 64MP triple camera setup, along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera under the display. It runs on 5,000 mAh battery that offers 135W fast charging that allows charging from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes. Notably, the device also comes with the industry’s first 165W GaN charger.
