French media reported that the all-new Renault Duster project is in the development stage in Europe, where the model is marketed under the Dacia brand.
It is reported that the all-new Renault Duster will be ready by the end of 2023 and is expected to launch in 2024. The new model will be a shortened version of the Bigster SUV, first introduced in 2018. 2021 as a concept. The 7-seat Bigster SUV is production-ready and is expected to hit the Brazilian market in 2023-24.
The all-new Renault Duster mid-size SUV will be based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance’s CMF-B platform, which will also underpin the Bigster. This modular platform is flexible enough to accommodate different body styles as well as powertrain options including hybrid and electric. A recent media report claims that the third-generation Duster will be the best car ever produced and will feature a hybrid powertrain for the first time.
The new Renault Duster will share the design with the Bigster concept and will feature some new technology. The new Duster will come with a hybrid powertrain with 4×4 powertrain. The petrol engine will power the front wheels and an electric motor is located on the rear axle to provide traction for the wheels on difficult terrain. The new model can use a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V hybrid system that provides a combined output of 130 horsepower. The French carmaker may also offer a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine.

The new generation Renault Duster for India is also in production. The version for the Indian market is expected to be based on the new CMF-B LS platform, which is essentially a lower-spec version of the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B platform. The French carmaker is using the strategy of the VW Group, having launched several products based on the heavily localized MQB AO IN.
The Renault CMF-B LS version will be more affordable and has been tailored to conditions and requirements in developing markets. The platform will be optimized by adding and removing technology, and will comply with global safety. Similar to the global version, the Renault Duster in India will likely be offered with a hybrid powertrain that will comply with the latest emissions standards. The new model will also retain the off-road capabilities of the previous generation Duster. The Duster 4×4 is one of the cheapest 4WD SUVs on sale.
