(CHK) The newly launched A-class sedan rival of Hyundai Grand i10 has immediately attracted the attention of the public thanks to its very ‘comfortable’ price.
Tata Motors has just launched the new Tata Tigor XM iCNG variant in India with the price of Rs 7.40 lakh (equivalent to about VND 217 million when converted into Vietnamese Dong). This will be a tough opponent for the Hyundai Grand i10 sedan (also known as the Hyundai Aura in India). Previously, the automaker also introduced CNG versions of the Tigor and the Tiago hatchback in early 2022. The Indian automaker claims to have received a positive response for the new CNG lineup. In fact, the Tata Tigor and Tiago models hit their all-time high sales milestone in July 2022.
The new Tata Tigor XM iCNG is the new base version for the Tata Tigor iCNG, equipped with a host of safety and convenience features. Vehicles equipped with HarmanTM infotainment system with 4-speaker system, power windows, central locking, rear parking sensors and many other technologies. The new Tata Tigor XM iCNG variant is offered in 4 color options: Opal White, Daytona Grey, Arizona Blue and Deep Red.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Tata Motors said, “The Tigor is an extremely special product for us and the addition of this variable. iCNG can be the driving force for us to move further in the segment. Currently, more than 75% of orders for the Tigor range come from the iCNG variant, which is a testament to the strong demand for this variant in the Tigor lineup. With the growing popularity of Tigor iCNG and in line with our ‘Forever New’ brand philosophy, the new Tigor XM iCNG will help us to serve a new group of customers who want to experience our iCNG technology me at a lower price. I am confident that this addition will further accelerate our growth in the segment.”
The Tata Tigor is the only sedan in India with a full range of Gasoline, Electric and CNG options with both manual and automatic transmissions. The big rival of the Hyundai Grand i10 is equipped with a BS6 1.2L engine that produces a maximum capacity of 73.4 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 95 Nm. This engine power is about 13 hp and 18 Nm lower than the regular petrol variant. A 5-speed manual transmission for the front wheels is standard equipment.
