(CHK) Russia decided to manufacture laptops using Baikal-M processors in the country after receiving sanctions from Western countries.
After the war with Ukraine, Russia faced a multitude of difficulties, most of them related to sanctions. The most important of which is technology, which involves software and hardware. Russia is not allowed to use any products or ingredients developed in countries where sanctions are imposed. Google, Apple, Intel and many other large companies have completely canceled all forms of cooperation with Russia.
However, this is not only a difficulty but also an opportunity for Russia. Similar to Huawei, the Chinese manufacturer has developed its own operating system, which can overtake Android and iOS in the mobile market and Windows in the PC market. Therefore, the Russian company Promobit is also preparing to produce a laptop named Bitblaze Titan BM15 using a domestically produced Baikal-M processor.
The Bitblaze Titan BM15 laptop will have a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display, accompanied by 16GB memory and 512GB SSD ROM. It will also support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, have built-in USB 3.0, HDMI, USB Type-C and RJ-45 interfaces, and a 6,000Mah battery capacity.

The manufacturer will provide 2 versions with 2 different materials. In addition to the regular alloy version, there is also a titanium alloy version. In addition, the Baikal-M series processors developed by a Russian company use the TSMC 28mm process. Its 8-core architecture integrates Cortex-A57 cores with a frequency of 1.5GHz. This chip also uses the Mali-T628 MP8 GPU core with a frequency of 750MHz. It supports dual-channel DDR4-2400 or DDR3-1600 memory with a power consumption of no more than 35W. It is compatible with Astra Linux or Alt Linux operating systems.

The first batch of Bitblaze Titan BM15 around 1000 units will be assembled in the next few months. The main consumers of the Bitblaze Titan BM15 will be the Russian government and businesses. Laptop prices will range from 100,000 VND (about 38 million) to 120,000 VND (about 45.6 million).
