Information from Reuters said that, to the question of whether the iPhone 14 could be imported to Russia under the “parallel import mechanism”, Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov replied: “Why not? If consumers If you want to buy it, you can buy it.”

On the morning of September 8, Russian carrier MTS began accepting orders for new iPhone 14 models with prices starting from 84,990 rubles (VND 33 million) for the 128GB version. However, MTS also warns that the maximum delivery time is up to 120 days and they have the right to cancel the order if there is a problem in the import of the product.

Earlier, in June, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law a law on “parallel import mechanism” importing a variety of products from auto parts to electronics, in the context of importing into Vietnam. Russia plummeted due to Western sanctions and a series of foreign companies leaving Russia.

Parallel imports refer to goods that are imported into a market without the consent of the producer of that good. It should be clearly stated that this is a genuine product, but sold by the manufacturer in another country or region.

Such imports are considered gray market because they are resold by unauthorized dealers. Since the brand owner has no control over the distribution of these goods, they are not covered by their warranty plan.

Thus, Apple can’t really prevent the iPhone 14 from appearing in the Russian market if the country can find a genuine source from a third party.

It is known that Apple has stopped doing business in Russia since March. However, items such as iPhone, MacBook and other Apple products are still available on the Russian market through the parallel import mechanism.

After many leaked rumors, at the “Far out” event, Apple officially introduced the iPhone 14 series product line with the appearance of 4 versions: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max . In this year’s iPhone 14 generation, Apple has removed the mini version. Thus, the iPhone 14 has only 2 size options, 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.

With iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, this duo has the same design compared to its predecessor, still has a glossy glass back, aluminum frame, rabbit ear screen on the front and has a dual camera cluster. iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have OLED screens, the resolution stays the same, no 120Hz high refresh rate. This monitor has a brightness of up to 1200 nits and a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. The notch area remains the same size and is where the selfie camera first supports autofocus with TrueDepth camera cluster.

Russia is still open to sell iPhone 14 despite Apple's announcement to withdraw from the market - Photo 2.

Meanwhile, the Pro version brings quite a few more notable upgrades. Accordingly, the screen has been upgraded from a notch to a tablet screen with a more optimized notch area. The display on the Pro version has a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, supports the standby screen feature (Always on Display).

Apple equips the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max with the new Apple A16 chip, developed based on the 4nm process with more than 16 billion transistors. Apple A16 consists of 6 cores, 2 of which are performance cores and 4 are energy efficient, in addition to 16 neural engine cores with the ability to handle up to 17 trillion tasks per second.

According to the announcement from Apple, iPhone 14 costs from 799 USD, iPhone 14 Plus costs from 899 USD. While, iPhone 14 Pro starts at $ 999 and iPhone 14 Pro Max is $ 1,099, with a choice of up to 1 TB of internal memory.
