Google has just officially released the notice of changes to its G Suite For Education service. Specifically, this service will be renamed Google Workspace For Education. In addition, instead of being allowed to unlimited storage on Google Drive, organizations and schools using Google Workspace For Education will be limited to 100TB / 1 school (organization).

The storage limit will be divided among students / students and staff participating in the school’s Workspace For Educaiton. This change will take effect from July 2022 with schools previously registered with G Suite For Education.

Schools or organizations that register new Google Workspace For Education will be subject to new regulations as early as 2022.

For admins to adapt to the new paradigm and optimize storage, Google provides tools to define and manage how storage is used. In addition, administrators will also have tools to efficiently allocate space for accounts in the system.

The free version of G Suite For Education will be renamed Google Workspace For Education Fundamentals by Google. This version will not have any changes except the name. To get more features you will need to use the Google Workspace For Education Standard or Plus editions.
