Some major technical updates over the past month
Dapp Containers
dApp Container is a framework for provisioning resources for nodes, allowing dApps on Chromia to launch completely decentralized and eliminating dependency on other services like AWS. Source Codes for this feature is complete and the project has updated this information on the development roadmap page.
Postchain 3.5.0 (current version)
Postchain 3.5.0 was successfully updated in June. This major update focuses on feature as well as preliminary directory chain functions paving the way for further advancement of the mainnet.
Postchain 3.6.0 (coming soon)
Development for update 3.6.0 has also been completed and will be merged in July. This is a smaller update than 3.5, allowing Postchain block producers and nodes to launch on machines. cloud servers (like AWS) and Linux containers (via Kubernetes) and configured via API commands. These functions will be used by the ChromaWay RBN as part of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure and will also be used for the Chromia mainnet.
Directory string (Directory Chain)
The directory chain “DC” is responsible for coordinating the entire Chromia network. This system stores all the information needed to operate the network, such as a list of providers, a list of nodes, and the configuration (code) of all blockchains on Chromia. It also allows moving assets across all chains or through ICMF in more complex cases.
As mentioned before, the recent Postchain update contains the first DC development goals. The project team outlined the development tasks needed to complete during July and August.
EIF (Ethereum Interoperability Framework)
EIF is a set of functions that allow Chromia to act as a layer-2 of Ethereum and all other EVM chains such as BNB Chain, Polygon, Fantom, AVAX C-Chain… These functions include connecting assets to and go from these chains to Chromia..
Although this concept was only mentioned in May, Chromia has so far completed 80% of its development target for EIF. Chromia plans to merge the source code in August and then conduct extensive testing.
FT Token Standard
FT is the token standard on Chromia. The project has collected feedback on FT3 and is developing FT4 which improves compatibility with Metamask, the Ethereum ecosystem and other EVM chains, and security.

About Chromia
Chromia (CHR) is a blockchain platform that combines the technology between blockchain and relational databases – databases for decentralized applications, conceived to meet the shortcomings of existing platforms and designed designed to allow a new generation of dApps to expand beyond existing capabilities. Chromia was formerly known as Chromapolis. The goal of the project is to build its own blockchain network that allows the development of easy, efficient dApps with high throughput.
