From now on, users of the globally popular messaging app Telegram will be supported to transfer Toincoin (TON).

Toncoin is Telegram’s cryptocurrency project, which was “turned away” when it was blocked by the US government in May 2020. However, in mid-April, Toncoin successfully raised 1 billion USD from the community to promote its ecosystem.

Recently, on Twitter, the TON Foundation, the organization that manages the token, said that they have enabled the ability to send Toncoin for free for all Telegram users.

“With this service, you will no longer need to enter long wallet addresses and wait for confirmations.”

Publisher Toncoin claims that the new feature makes transferring TON through the Telegram app as simple as sending a message.

Users will access the @wallet bot to start using it. Then, grant permission to create a wallet and add (add) to the messaging menu. Users will be supported by the @wallet Bot to buy Toncoin (TON) with a bank card. Next time could be buying Bitcoin (BTC).

As of press time, the TON Foundation says over 800,000 users have registered to open a wallet.

Currently, each TON is priced at $2.25, and is listed on exchanges like FTX, PancakeSwap, Uniswap, and Gate.io.

Additionally, last September, Twitter offered a similar means, adding bitcoin payments via the Lightning Network, based on third-party payment services like Jack Mallers’ Strike app. Last week, payments giant Stripe also partnered with Twitter, saying it will use Polygon to scale Ethereum, allowing customers to pay in crypto/
