Just a few weeks ago, Skoda India announced the start of production of the upgraded Kodiaq in the country and some authorized dealers have also opened pre-orders for this model. Deliveries of the Skoda Kodiaq 2022 will start from January 14, 2022, and the price of this model will be announced 4 days before the launch (January 10, 2022).

Skoda Kodiaq has been discontinued in India due to failure to meet BS6 emission standards. Earlier this year, the Czech automaker introduced a mid-life update for the Kodiaq to extend the life of the first generation and deliver noticeable changes.

On the outside, the Skoda Kodiaq 2022 has a more prominent grille, updated bonnet structure, redesigned headlights with newly integrated LED daytime running lights, revised bumper with slits wider central air intake and hexagonal mesh with black trim and spoiler. Other highlights are the updated LED taillights and revised rear bumper.

Skoda Kodiaq 2022 features tall columns and a slightly sloping roofline with new roof rails. The side of the car comes with black wheel arches and new design alloy wheels. The Indian market may also receive a Sportline variant with black design details, different from the chrome details on the regular version.

In terms of performance, the updated Skoda Kodiaq will use a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, delivering a maximum capacity of 187 horsepower and maximum torque of 320 Nm. This engine will be linked to a 7-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all 4 wheels. The Kodiaq was previously sold with a 2.0L diesel engine rated at 147.9 hp. This 7-seater SUV will compete with Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner and VW Tiguan.
