iQOO has announced the upcoming launch of the new Neo 8 series, which includes two models, Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro. Ahead of the official release on May 23 in China, the company shared the design of the phone, which showcased some minor updates from the previous Neo 7 series.

On Weibo, iQOO has released a video revealing the design of the upcoming Neo 8 series. The phones will maintain a curved back, and the preview model has a red vegan leather back.

On the back, there is a rectangular camera module with two circular cutouts, which houses the dual camera setup and LED flash for the Neo 8 5G. The camera module text reveals that the Neo 8 will integrate support for optical image stabilization (OIS).

According to iQOO, Neo 8 Pro will be equipped with the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ System-on-Chip (SoC), built on a 4nm process and capable of reaching a peak clock speed of 3.35GHz. .

In addition, the phone will integrate Vivo’s V1+ chip to improve camera, performance and visibility. With the inclusion of the V1+ ISP chip, it looks like iQOO may be planning to turn the Neo 8 Pro into a full-fledged device rather than just a device focused on gaming.

A recent AnTuTu listing of the device also suggests it will be a monster gaming machine, as it scored over 1.3 million points in the benchmark. This shows that it will have destructive power and can easily take the throne of the high-end segment of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Leak expert Yogesh Brar revealed the key specifications of the iQOO Neo 8 Pro in a recent tweet. The leaker says that the Neo 8 Pro is expected to feature a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. It will likely be launched in China with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.

This phone is said to have a triple camera system on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor. However, the specifications of the other two sensors are yet to be revealed by the source. It will also have a 16MP front-facing camera. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging when it ships. Neo 8 Pro will run on Android 13 and will have Origin 3 OS on top.

According to recent leaks, Neo 8 5G is expected to be equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 System-on-Chip (SoC). The phone will also likely feature a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 1.5K high resolution, and 2160Hz PWM dimming technology.
