Tips to help you not reveal sensitive information on iPhone in case of loss

Losing a phone always comes with the loss of personal data inside. It can be sensitive personal information, bank passwords or personal documents. However, if you use, iPhone, the problem mentioned above may not be caused by a setting like below.

The data in your iPhone really probably won’t be accessed by crooks if you set the “Erase data” mode automatically.

Note: You need to regularly back up the data on your iPhone or iPad and be able to get it back in case you get your device back or buy a new iPhone. To enable automatic data deletion, you can do the following:

• Step 1: Go to settings > Face ID / Touch ID & Passcode
• Step 2: Enter your passcode and then scroll to the bottom of the page. Slide the button next to Clear data to the On position.

So from now on, whenever you enter your device’s passcode wrong 10 times, your iPhone or iPad will automatically reset to factory settings. This process doesn’t just take a few minutes. After a few mistypes, your phone or tablet sets a time limit before someone can try to re-enter your passcode.

It takes up to 10 failed attempts in 1 hour and 36 minutes for the iPhone to reset itself to factory settings. Thus, your iPhone will never be exposed to data even if it is taken over by crooks.
