iPads are great tablets despite being very old. However, if you are considering buying a second hand iPad or remember, Apple has added the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 to its list of obsolete products, as more than 5 years have passed since the last time the iPads were released. This device is for sale. Once added to the obsolete products list, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 2 will no longer receive regular software updates.
First released in October 2014, the iPad Air 2 was the first iPad Air to feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It also uses Apple’s A8X processor and has a multi-layer gapless display, making it thinner than the original iPad Air.
iPad Mini 2 was released in November 2013 and is often called iPad mini Retina because it has retina display with 2048×1536 resolution. Otherwise, it is identical to its predecessor, albeit slightly heavier and thicker. The tablet uses the same A7 processor as the original M7 introduced on the iPhone 5s.
The obsolete product list includes devices that Apple stopped distributing and selling more than 5 years ago and less than 7 years ago. Apple provides service and parts for older devices for up to 7 years or as required by law, but repairs are subject to part availability.
On the other hand, Apple is expected to move the 2014 11 and 13-inch MacBook Air and mid-2014 13-inch MacBook Pro models from classic to obsolete in early May, but the latest update shows only two. MacBook Air.
Currently, Vietnamese customers can buy iPad Air 2 from 5.5 million VND and iPad Mini 2 from 2 million VND on e-commerce sites as second-hand goods. However, with being included in the obsolete list, buying these iPad models should be avoided because of security risks as well as the application may not work stably.
